How To Choose The Proper Class

Students: Age 1-6:

All preschool classes are designed to introduce age appropriate coursework for the young dancer’s physical, emotional, and social skills. The class develops the basic elements of creative movement, tap, and ballet as well as vocabulary, and music. Primary objectives are geared toward inspiration, self-expression, creativity, and imagination. Young children experience the love of learning through dance and music.

Students: Age 8-12:

Classes designed to develop the second through sixth grade student with age appropriate coursework developing elementary through intermediate skills in dance, choreography, vocabulary and musicality stylized execution of the dance genre. The classroom focus will be on technique, self-expression, and performance within the joy of a disciplined yet encouraging learning environment. Students will be advanced based on their demonstration of skills and their years of training.

*Beginner: For the student with little or no dance/gymnastics experience, or no more than 1-3 years of dance education.

*Beg/Int: For the student with at least 2-3 years of dance education who has moved beyond the basics yet is not quite ready for full intermediate work or is learning a new style of dance.

*Intermediate: For the student with 2 – 4 years of early dance education who has demonstrated a high level of proficiency in the fundamental skills and is ready to move on to a higher level of difficulty in a familiar style.

*Permission of instructor is required. Pre-requisites may be required.

We reserve the right to place students according to their age, ability level, and experience.

Students: Age 7-9:

Classes designed to develop the first through third grade student with age appropriate coursework developing elementary through intermediate skills in dance, choreography, vocabulary and musicality with stylized execution of the dance genre. The classroom focus will be on technique, self-expression, and performance within the joy of a disciplined yet encouraging learning environment.

*Beginner: For the student with little or no dance/gymnastics experience, or no more than 1-2 years of preschool dance education.

*Intermediate: For the student with 2 – 4 years of early dance education who has demonstrated proficiency in the basic skills and is ready to move on to a higher level of difficulty. Permission of instructor is required.

Students: Pre-Teen/Teens:

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Beginner through advanced level classes

Classes designed to develop the sixth grade through college age student with coursework developing elementary through advanced skills in dance, choreography, vocabulary, and musicality with stylized execution of the dance genre. The class will develop technique, self-expression, strength, and the complexity of combinations and level of performance. A respectful attitude, regular attendance, the ability to demonstrate skills at each level of advancement bring forth the spirit of joy, teamwork, and accomplishment.

*Beginner: Students who are working on mastering the fundamentals.

*Beg/Int: Students who have demonstrated proficiency in the fundamentals.

*Intermediate: Students who have at least 3-5 years of experience and demonstrate the ability to execute an intermediate level of technique and performance.

*Int/Adv: Students with 5 or more years of experience who demonstrate high levels of technique, strength, musicality, complex choreography, and performance.

Students: ADULTS ONLY: Age 18 & up

Our adult classes give special attention to the demands of the busy adult dancers who enjoy dance for fun and as a way to stay in shape.

Adult Open Level: Beginner/Intermediate work for all adult students.

Adult Beginner: Focus on the fundamentals in technique and choreography.

Adult Intermediate/Advanced: Dancers who have a strong grasp of the basics and are ready for more advanced work.
